The Thalassian Rifle is one of the Weapons in  ARK: Survival Evolved, being introduced with the release of Aquatica. It is unlocked at Level 57 for 18 Engram Points. It is best known for being able to be used underwater.

General

The Thalassian Pistol can be used both underwater and on Land, making it a great all-rounder of a weapon.

It has 300 Durability, costing 1 durability per  Thalassian Ammo and 0.5 per  Tranq Thalassian Ammo.

Its scope can be used similarly to the  Tek Rifle, although you cannot zoom with it and it does not have a night vision mode.

Utility

The Thalassian Rifle holds 24 bullets in its magazine, with a decent rate of fire and good damage.

It can be used in the late game as a way to knock out even the strongest aquatic Creatures like  Dakosaurus or  Mosasaurus.

Using  Tranq Thalassian Ammo deals 26 damage, which increases with item quality. The target's torpor will increase by 900% of the damage dealt instantaneously, as well as an additional 375% of the damage over the next 5 seconds, for a total of 331.5 Torpor with an engram level Thalassian Rifle.

Notes

• When using Tranq Thalassian Ammo, the torpor per ammo ratio is significantly better than the one of the  Thalassian Pistol.
• Bullets fired with the Thalassian Rifle need roughly 1.6 seconds to travel 50 in-game Meters (tested using taming progress tracker). That makes its bullets roughly as fast as the bullets of a Tek Rifle.
• Quality Thalassian Rifles and Blueprints can be rewarded for completing Rifts (Tier 5, Tier 6, Greater Rift).
