Soul Trap
Holp up to a tamed dino to trap it. Throw to release.
- Reload (R) switches between Dino souls.
Hold down to equip a soul gun or empty soul trap
- Toggle Attachment (N) reverses soul switch order

The Soul Trap is an item from the Dino Storage V2 Mod in ARK: Survival Evolved.
General
It's a powerful substitute of the Cryopod and the linchpin of the mod.
Usage
- Stacked
- Can be directly used with the Soul Gun.
- You can retail stacks by using E, , on it or by using the corresponding key in you hotbar.
- Stored this way is less encumbering.
- Retailed
- Once manualy retailed or after use, the Soul Trap keeps single in your inventory or your hotbar. You can use it like this by hand or stack it by dropping it on a stack.
Put a Soul Trap in your hotbar and hold it. Using Lmb, , in front of your dino will make trap it in the Soul.
Once filled, throw your dino outside by launching it in a clear area.

Visuals
While hovering on a filled Soul Trap, you display a tooltip giving detailed informations. See Gallery below.
In the Inventory, the Soul Trap gives short but quick informations about the creature within thanks to its icon.
Colors
The Soul Trap, either in inventory or hand, displays a color along the gender and the status of its content.
- Pink: female creature.
- Blue: male creature.
- Orange: non gendered.
- White: empty.
When you draw a Soul Trap in hand, a message on top of the screen, displaying specie, gender, level and name of the creature. The message has the color of the gender (see above).
Portrait
A protrait of the creature is displayed instead of the Soul Trap Icon. It has the color of the gender/status of its content (see above).
If the creature contained is unknown (case of a modded creature as the mod isn't installed), a white interrogation mark will replace the portrait.
Icons
- Pacifier: non-adult creature.
- Wings: flyer creature.
- Water drop: aquatic creature.
- Mating ready: (green), the creature is ready to mate.
- Countdown: (yellow), time for a female to be mating ready. When ready, then it's getting "Mating ready".
- Cuddle: (red) time before a non-adult creature will want a cuddle. If this information isn't displayed as you have the pacifier icon, it's a 100% impregnated adolescent that finish to maturate.
