Basic Info

Patient Note

This dossier section is intended to be an exact copy of what Dr. Sophia, the author of the Patient Notes has written. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game creatures.

Pre-exposure

Not unlike the other amphibious creatures of the Island, the subject shows a strong inclination towards swampland and, typical of the species, is an insectivore. Shows no signs of aggression until needed for self-defense, preferring to wander around in search of food rather than start a fight.

Post-exposure

The aggression seen in the subject rivals that of some of the largest Island predators, unlike others of its species that would only battle when provoked the subject seeks out a fight, no matter the enemy. As a result of this aggressive behavior, the subject has sustained a number of battle wounds, leaving it scarred across much of its body. Unlike the others of its species that outwardly displayed the miraculous glowing reaction to Element, the subject displays this instead on its most useful tool - it's massive, deadly tongue.

Combat

This section describes how to fight against the Beelzemorbus.

General

The arena is flat and possesses qualities similar to that of a swamp. The Beelzemorbus is a fast creature, and will dart in and out at the survivor. Occasionally, the Beelzemorbus will pull the survivor in with its tongue, effectively immobilizing its prey. The tongue attack of the Beelzemorbus will deal  Torpor, and  Meganeura will attempt to swarm the survivor.

Strategy

Since the Beelzemorbus is fast, it is important for the survivor to note their distance from the Boss. While the Beelzemorbus is jumping away from the survivor, they are free to shoot at it with a ranged Weapon. However, when the Beelzemorbus turns, it is able to pull the survivor in or attack with its tongue. To avoid these attacks, the survivor can jump out of the way.

Alternatively, the survivor can chase the Beelzemorbus down in order to attack it with a melee Weapon. The Beelzemorbus is incapable of attacking anything under its belly, allowing the survivor to keep attacking it without taking any damage.

Weaponry

While the Beelzemorbus is jumping at the survivor, hitting it with a  Rocket Launcher will cause the Beelzemorbus to flinch. A  Compound Bow can also deal a decent amount of damage. Using a  Sword or a  Pump-Action Shotgun can inflict some damage in the event that the Beelzemorbus pulls the survivor in. Be wary of its minions, which deal small amounts of damage and inflict  Torpor, so the use of  Bug Repellant is highly recommended. The  Sword will also serve to dispatch of the  Meganeuras if the survivor gets caught in the swarm, since the  Pump-Action Shotgun cannot hit at such a close range. A full set of  TEK Armor, coupled with  Battle Tartare and  Enduro Stew can assist the player to fight the Beelzemorbus unscathed.

Dangers

The Beelzemorbus can reach the survivor with a few jumps, at which point it will attempt to entrap the survivor with its tongue. The  Meganeuras it summons deal a decent amount of damage and becoming trapped in the swarm will render ranged Weapons useless.

Weakness

The Beelzemorbus can take headshot damage, so shooting at the front will inflict more damage. A  Sword can be used to smack the Beelzemorbus into the air, and while it is in a state of "falling", it is unable to attack.
