Manticore Arena (Scorched Earth)
This page may contain spoilers related to the background-story of ARK: Survival Evolved.
If you want to experience the story ingame, you probably shouldn't continue reading on this page.
This article is about content exclusive to the DLC: Scorched Earth |
The Manticore Arena, also known as the Scorned Crags is an arena for fighting the boss of the Scorched Earth DLC, the Manticore. The Arena is 40 °C or 104 °F so bring good Hyperthermal Protection. Calien Soup is highly recommended!
Upon teleportation to the Manticore Arena, the Manticore will roar and swoop down to fight the player(s) while numerous Deathworms lie in wait beneath the ground. A timer will immediately begin counting down from 25 minutes within which the boss must be defeated. Once the timer expires all players, dinos and items in the arena are destroyed.

Notes
- The Manticore Arena is one of the two boss arena that permits flying creature inside (other being Crystal Wyvern Queen Arena), barring Titan arenas.
Compatible Tamed Creatures
These restrictions do not apply to Extinction arena as the boss fight takes place inside the map rather than in a separate section of the map
Entry Restriction:
- A maximum of 10 survivors and 20 creatures are allowed to enter the arena. In the case of Tek Cave, a maximum of 10 survivors and 40 creatures are allowed, but only 20 creatures can be warped in at any point of time to the arena itself per warp.
- Most Arenas restrict survivors to ground-only creature. There are a few exceptions:
- Scorched Earth - Flyers are permitted in this arena.
- Aberration - Climbers are permitted in this arena. This includes Enforcer, Megalania, Thylacoleo and Rock Drake
- Genesis - Sea Creatures are permitted in Moeder arena, and its drag weights are not considered when warping to the arena.
- Exceptions for certain arenas are only valid for the listed arenas. E.g. Manticore Arena refers to the Manticore Arena in Scorched Earth but not Ragnarok Arena where you also have to fight against the Manticore.
- A creature's "drag weight" must be less than 560. This is how much the creature itself weighs, not its carrying weight seen in its inventory.
- To see this value in-game, place the creature on an Elevator Platform with an empty inventory and no saddle.
