Equipment Traits

The Equipment Traits is a new mechanic that came out along with Extinction as part of Wasteland War on  ARK: Survival Ascended.

General

Equipment Traits are special passives that can be equipped to Armor, Melee, Projectile or Firearms Weapons depending on trait type.

Obtaining

Equipment Traits are obtainable from  Orbital Supply Drops from Extinction. Higher quality traits are more common on high quality OSDs. Also the  Wasteland King Titan ocasionally give some traits as loot after being killed.

They can also be found by unearth a  Buried Hex-Infected Junk using a  Hex-Infected Junk that was previously found it by an  Armadoggo with the Companion Mode active, this map can be randomly dropped by any carnivore or corrupt creature that the Armadoggo kills.

Usage

Equipment Traits can be applied to any type of Armor, Melee, Projectile or Firearms Weapons depending on the trait type by using a  Makeshift Megalab.

Every equipment can only have a single trait.

While wearing this armor, you have a 10% chance to add any ammo that hits you to your inventory. 10% 15% 20%

While wearing this armor, the effects of all incoming healing is increased by 10%. 10% 15% 20%
Marathon Armor Trait.png

While wearing this armor, you can run with no  Stamina... but  Hunger and  Thirst decrease instead. Once those stats reach zero, you cannot run. 15/s 12.5/s 10/s
Mobile Armor Trait.png

While wearing this armor, effects cannot drop your  Movement Speed below 30% of your normal maximum. 30% 45% 60%
Cleansing Armor Trait.png

While wearing this armor, duration of all debuffs is decreased by 5%. 5% 7.5% 10%
Cannibalizing Gun Trait.png

This weapon can fire parts of itself when it has no ammo. 0.5 0.75 1
Focusing Gun Trait.png
Gun
Each hit from this weapon against a non-allied target causes that target to take 1% increased damage from the wielder for 10 seconds, stacking up to 10 times. 1% 1.5% 2%
Protecting Gun Trait.png

Each hit from this weapon against a non-allied target reduces the damage of the next incoming attack by 2.5%, stacking up to 10 times. 2.5% 3.75% 5%
Ricocheting Gun Trait.png

Shots from this weapon have a 12.5% chance to ricochet into a second nearby target. 12.5% 18.75% 25%
Tracker's Gun Trait.png

Living targets hit by this weapon display a navpoint for 5 seconds, visible only to the wielder. 5s 7.5s 10s
Lifedrinking Melee Trait.png
Melee
Heal for 5% of the damage you deal with this weapon, to a max of 5% of your max  Health. 5% 7.5% 10%
Rogue's Melee Trait.png
Melee
Damage dealt from behind a target is increased by 20%. 20% 30% 40%
Worker's Melee Trait.png
Melee
Attacks from this weapon deals 7.5% more damage to Structures and non-carcass Resources. 7.5% 11.25% 15%
Berserker's Melee Trait.png
Melee
Increases the wielder’s speed by 2.5%, but increases damage taken by 10%. 2.5% 3.75% 5%
Shielding Melee Trait.png
Melee
Hits against non-allied living targets grants you shield for 2.5% of you max  Health, stacking up to 5 times. 2.5% 3.75% 5%
Antigrav Projectile Trait.png
Projectile
Projectiles fired by this weapon have their speed increased by 25%, and reduce the effect of gravity on them by 25%. 25% 37.5% 50%
Assassin's Projectile Trait.png
Projectile
Projectiles fired by this weapon increase location-based damage (ex: headshots) by 12.5%. 12.5% 18.75% 25%
Big Game Hunter's Projectile Trait.png
Projectile
Projectiles fired by this weapon deal 2.5% increased damage to Alpha, Boss, and Corrupted Creatures. 2.5% 3.75% 5%
Ambusher's Projectile Trait.png

After not dealing or receiving damage for 30 seconds, this weapons next attack deals an additional 50% damage. 50% 75% 100%
Echoing Projectile Trait.png
Projectile
Projectiles from this weapon have a 5% chance to fire 2 additional times from the same location and in the same direction as the original projectile. Each shot fires 0.2 seconds after the previous projectile. 5% 7.5% 10%

Notes

  •  Mantis is no affected by the traits for melee weapons.
  • Medical Trait seems to be inconsistent with the extra healing that it give to the player, usually gives around 5-10% extra healing that intended.
