These incredibly strong, lightweight nodules are somehow naturally made in corrupted creatures. Incredibly hazardous to human health if consumed.

Used to craft

The Corrupted Nodule is a resource in Extinction. It can be obtained from killing Corrupted Creatures.

Corrupted Nodules act as a substitute for  Polymer much like  Organic Polymer. Unlike the latter however, the Corrupted Nodule drops at a lower rate and can only be harvested from the bodies of Corrupted Creatures.
Corrupted Nodules can not be used as a substitute for  Organic Polymer in the crafting of  Ghillie Armor.

Gathering

Gathering Corrupted Nodules shares the same mechanics to gathering  Organic Polymer. Tools associated with gathering Organic Polymer should work the same with Corrupted Nodules, with the  Chainsaw being the most efficient. However, the  Moschops is an exception due to its harvest scalation only applies to the organic polymer itself and no its variants.

It also shares the increased spoil time whilst put on an  Achatina, even though it obviously can't be produced by it, and  Preserving Salt does not affect it.

Notes

  • Corrupted Nodule can also be used as a "suicide pill." When consumed it does 500 damage to the player, like Organic Polymer, which will kill most players instantly.
  • Exactly like Organic Polymer, the Corrupted Nodule also only stacks up to 20, allowing it to quickly fill up a creature's inventory.
