- Wild
Why am I not surprised that common house cats survived the end of the world? Feral cats have always been reasonbly good at avoiding wild predators... Maybe it's more of a wonder they haven't managed to wreck the ecosystem here, given their taste for the feathered dinosaur decedents of my day. Cats are unpredictable little goblins. Some attack anyone who invades their personal space, some run and hide, and a few are actually friendly. But the really mean cats will cling onto you while trying to scratch your eyes out. You'll need to slap those off your face while you still have one.
- Domesticated
These fuzzy little fiends are fickle friends, but I'd bet you could win one over with a bit of meat or fish and some stroking of its malicious little ego. Not sure why you'd want to do that exactly... Maybe they'd help keep thieving vermin from your camp? Or you could try drying out their spit-up hairballs or insulation...

- For a comparison of the stats of all creatures, see Base Creature Statistics.
- For an explanation of exactly how the levelup calculation works, see Creature Stats Calculation.
- 1These are the base speeds of the tamed creature at 100% Movement Speed, i.e. without a possible taming bonus.
- 2These are the speeds of the creature once tamed including a possible taming bonus and no imprinting bonus.
- For a comparison of the speeds of all creatures, see Base Creature Speeds.
Wild Stats Level-up
Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]
The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps
Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Shoulder Pet
The Cat is a shoulder pet, meaning that it can be picked up by the player on their shoulder, allowing the Cat to attack from there if within range. It cannot take damage unless the player dies or it is thrown off the shoulder.
While on your shoulder, the weight that the Cat has in its inventory will weigh half as much to the player.
Pet
The Cat can be pet, and depending on its personality it can vomit a File:Hairball.png Hairball.
Pest Control
The Cat can constantly scare small creatures such as Pegomastax,
Ichthyornis or
Microraptor.
The Cat can be equipped with helmets for extra damage resistance.

Utility
Roles
- PvP Distraction Tool: The Cat can latch on enemy player's faces, covering most of their vision with its own body and doing constant damage. (Level up Health and Damage)
- Pest Control: The Cat constantly scares aggressive small creatures away from it.
- Shoulder Pet: As a Shoulder Pet, the Cat can be used as a backpack to carry extra weight, while he also protects the player from small creatures such as
Pegomastax or
Ichthyornis. (Level up Health and Weight)
- Titan Killer: Curiously enough, Cats can latch onto the faces of
Titanosaurs such that their main attack cannot reach. As Cats can remain latched on indefinitely, until they are removed by an attack, they can very slowly and safely drain the health of a Titanosaur, all the way to death. (Level up Melee Damage)

This is the list of creatures that can be scared by the Cat (Still under investigation):

Taming
There are three different type of Cats in the wild: Passive, Neutral and Aggressive. Those behaviors don't affect the way that the Cat behaves once tamed and just affect the way that the Cat is going to be tamed.
Passive
A common passive taming without any extra step. Approach to the Cat with the taming food on the last slot of the hotbar and feed it. Repeat until it got tamed.
Neutral
As of patch V64.7 Neutral and Aggressive Cat's can no longer be tamed by bringing into water. As of now there is no known way to solo tame these cats without asking another participant on a server if the same cat is Passive for them and if they are willing to trade said cat.
Aggressive
Same as Neutral.
Notes
For information pertaining specifically to the real-world Cat, see the relevant Wikipedia article.
- It was added during April Fools' Day of 2025.
- Its model is similar to the Cat of ATLAS.
- Perhaps recycled assists were used with new animations.
