Overview
The Bio-Grinder is a structure included in the Bob's Tall Tales DLC, and is unlocked at level 85. It was released alongside Extinction and was introduced in the Wasteland War DLC. It's purpose is to take tamed creatures and destroy them to make kibble.
Usage
Walk or place tamed creatures onto the grinder to make kibble out of them. The quality of kibble you receive is based on the size of the egg (for egg-layers) or its body size equivalent (for viviparous).
Only tamed creatures of the same tribe can be ground, tames of other tribes or wild creatures are not affected. Also not any species can be ground on it, if the creature is too big it will not be ground. Also, there are some exceptions to what can be ground, such as
Gachas,
Armadoggos or
Veilwyns.
The Bio-Grinder will harvest the sacrificed creature's corpse and collect their resources with a bit less efficiency than a
Chainsaw.
In addition to the grounded creature's resources, the grinder will also give
Kibble, which quality will be based on the kibble type that can be made using the species' egg (Or an equivalent quality based on creature's size if its a viviparous). The amount of kibble that the Bio-Grinder gets depends of the creature's level.
Bio-Grinder will only produce
Kibble from fully mature creatures consistently, babies on the other hand dont usually drop kibble, the actual percentage is unknown, but the babies rarely drop kibble.
If a creature with a saddle equipped and/or items in its inventory is placed into the grinder, the items will be deposited into a bag located in the grinder's corner. The deposit chute is marked by a red light and smoke rising from the top.
Grind Reward
For non-egg layers, they usually drop the same kibble quality that they require for its taming, and for egg layers they usually drop the same as its egg quality. The exceptions and others that don't require kibble for taming and don't produce unfertilized eggs are listed below:
