El Acechador Sangriento (Bloodstalker en la versión original del juego) es una de las criaturas disponibles en la expansión "Genesis: Parte 1" de ARK: Survival Evolved.

Información básica

The Bloodstalker is an aggressive creature in ARK: Survival Evolved that shoots webbing to latch onto prey and reel them towards it while on the ceiling or at the walls of the trees or caves. The Bloodstalker kills its prey by draining its blood and impaling it with retractable spikes in its feet. The Bloodstalker's web attack has a very long range and can grab most creatures its size or smaller. They also are in a close vicinity with one another making avoiding one very difficult if you happen to be in their area.

Very rarely, if they are found on the ground, they will attack like any other aggressive creature, but may try to shoot webbing similar to when they are on the ceiling.

Much like Gerridae family of insects, the Bloodstalker is able to skate across the water but by pressing X, Right Stick, or PS4: Right Stick, the Bloodstalker can swim.

El Acechador Sangriento tiene una gran semejanza con una araña gigante (más concretamente, con un fólcido gigante), aunque con claros rasgos extraños y de caracter alienígena que la hace única.

It has 12 limbs in total. The 6 mantis-like arms are jointed and having sharp spikes on them for grasping and holding prey. The 6 squid-like legs are very long and tentacle like, with webbing to allow better maneuverability in the air. Each leg has a foot with distinct parts. The back of each foot has 2 spines. The main tubular part of the foot has 4 small claws and a large retractable spike. While the body is not segmented like an arthropod, it does have an abdomen, main body, and head. All limbs attach to the underside of the body. The entire back is plated with chitinous armor and several strange pillar-like protrusions. The abdomen has what appear to be spiracles for breathing and has jagged spike at the end. At each shoulder of the creature lies a nozzle that shoots out webbing. The face is armored and bears 4 compound eyes and a huge, stabbing proboscis for sucking blood.

Color Scheme and Regions

This section displays the Acechador Sangriento's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Acechador Sangriento. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Acechador Sangriento will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

This information can be used to alter the Acechador Sangriento's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6 would color the Acechador Sangriento's "legs" magenta.

This section describes how to fight against the Bloodstalker.

The Bloodstalker is usually encountered when it latches on to you with its webbing from far away clinging to a tree. They are able to web you off your mount once you get in range and, once webbed, it will draw you in until it can hold you and start sucking your blood. When hit with a string of webbing, your vision will become blurry and the screen will sway.

You can kill them with ranged weapons even when being reeled in if you can manage to fight against the screen sway, but as soon as you are in the Bloodstalker's clutches, you become unable to use any tool. The only way to be released is to punch it. Keep in mind that fall damage becomes a great concern once released.

If you do escape from the web, the Bloodstalker may still try to chase you and kill you (even more so if it had latched you while its on the ground and not climbing), so melee weapons, dinos, or ranged attacks will come in handy for dealing with the creature.

Due to the nature of how the Bloodstalker spawns, unless you are often looking up from the tree or high grounds, you may get randomly webbed and pulled upwards.

If the Bloodstalker is spotted before it spots you, attempt to kill it from afar with range weaponry in order to rule out the chances of being killed.

Often times, preparation is impossible and being hit by a webbing is imminent. To prevent being drawn in completely, shoot at the Bloodstalker with a ranged weapon to kill it or order a dino to attack it if possible.

Once pulled in, punching allows you to possibly escape from the sticky fate. Escape chance starts at 0% but once you start fighting back, the chance of being freed increases by 5% until you are released.

Most of the time the Bloodstalker will be very high up and so even being released can mean a death sentence, making a Parachute or Glider Suit often crucial to survival.

Ranged weapons such as a Rifle de francotirador work best when afar. If webbed and your intentions were to kill it, ranged weapons can still be viable if the screen swaying can be managed. If not reeled in, a strong weapon such as Pike or a strong tame can also suffice if on the ground.

An unprepared survivor can easily be killed by a Bloodstalker. Bloodstalkers are found high up waiting on tree branches, which means you can die from fall damage when escaping it's grasp. It's recommended to bring a parachute to safely return to the ground. Be aware however as other Bloodstalkers can catch and reel you in as you parachute down. Bloodstalkers can also latch onto you while riding most mounts(Flying mounts are the most likely case if on unofficial), tamed Bloodstalkers included, so remember to keep them on follow if your exploring where they are located. Keep in mind also that for their size, the Bloodstalker has quite decent Health and Attack.

Hitting the bloodstalker once its latched onto you quite often will break free from the clutches. Moreover, while it is latched onto something, it will not be able to do anything else.

Riding a Stegosaurus will prevent bloodstalker from dismounting you. However, you cannot draw out the weapon while on it. (Requires testing)

For general information about domesticating a wild creature see Taming.

Bloodstalker is tamed non-violently, rather than through the usual methods.

With Blood Pack in the inventory (doesn't matter where, whether in the toolbar or not), locate one of the creature found at a giant tree and let it latch onto you. It will start draining the blood pack once latched very quickly, and will continue to do so until either there are no blood packs left, or it is tamed. If the bloodstalker is tamed during the process, it will latch the survivor on it as if the survivor is riding on it, ensuring the survivor does not fall to his/her death thereafter.

Be wary however, as the Blood Pack expires with 30 minutes without any form of preservation like Preserving Salt, searching to tame it must be done if blood packs are to be made immediately, and even more so as you need at most 1.5k Blood Packs in your inventory for a 150. Bring a few Parachute to escape from the current Bloodstalker after freeing from it. While being held by a bloodstalker, you will not be able to create more blood packs or consume any consumables (ie. Medical Brews/Food/Soups).

Having Bug Repellant while taming can be useful, as it wards off the bog’s prominent Insect Swarms from attacking and potentially interrupting the tame.

Increasing Efficiency

By default, the efficiency starts at a low percentage (around 50%). To increase its taming efficiency, it requires bloods from killing tamed creatures that it grabbed on (Example are Parasaur and Moschops), which increase its efficiency by a small percentage per kill. A tame with more health gives a bigger increase. Efficiency does not drop once it is raised, allowing taming to be safely made without risking any lowering of efficiency.

Taming Notes
  • Only kills made through web grabbing counts for the taming efficiency boost. Any kills made through the conventional method do not count.
  • Taming Effectiveness will not reduce when a wild Bloodstalker takes damage.
  • While the Taming multiplier affects the amount of blood pack required to tame the Bloodstalker, the level of the creature used as sacrifice are unaffected by the multiplier.
  • Sacrificing players does not increase the taming efficiency, however it does increase the taming progress.

The Bloodstalker Egg can not be picked up similar to water-laid eggs. Be sure that your hatchery has enough air conditioners or standing torches.

Baby Bloodstalkers eat Raw Meat and Blood Pack. Raw Meat fills 10 Food and Blood Pack fills 200 food. Baby Bloodstalkers lose 48 food per minute / 2880 Food per hour, so you will need tons of raw meat to maintain babies health. On the other hand, Blood packs might be the best food item for Bloodstalkers if you don't want to spend your time on babies to feed them with raw meat. Also, Blood packs are much lighter than raw meat. Don't forget that blood packs only last 2 hours in a dinos' inventory without Preserving Salt.

Tamed Bloodstalkers latch onto survivors and provide the survivor with height and enhanced vision (Known as "Spider Vision", similar to Tek Helmet pulse mode). Due to its nature, this Creature can latch onto branches and attachable walls with its silk and swing from one end to another, latching onto another while swinging. Holding LEFT CTRL button will cause the blood stalker to fall slowly. It jumps upwards twice, with additional jumps every successful momentum.

However, mastering the web slinging is tricky, if not useful. Left Mouse button slings one web either at the wall or at a target, whereas Right Mouse button sling both webs. Where the bloodstalker is aiming its web at can be determined by where the circle target is currently aiming. Holding the corresponding left/right mouse button pulls the bloodstalker towards the attached area/creature, building momentum, and when pressing jump right, will allow it to jump farther up than intended. The web will remain on the bloodstalker until either LEFT CTRL button or jump button is used, allowing the survivor to latch onto certain creature in suspension.

Some creatures and players can be webbed and pulled in for a feast. Bloodstalker will feast on such creature's blood, replenishing both its Health and Food. However, be careful as other creatures can still attack you. Press X to cancel the feast.

Moreover, if the survivor pulls out a Weapon, it will adjust itself upwards to allow for a clearer shot. It enters into water walking mode, and can switch to swimming (via submerging) by using the "X" button (L1 and L3 on console). If however, the bloodstalker's Health falls below 40%, it will slowly drain the survivor's health until it goes above it. You can also keep Blood Packs in your inventory to feed your spider instead of it being fed by you.

  • Master tamer: The Bloodstalker's unique traversal abilities combined with the ability for the rider to use weaponry arguably makes the Bloodstalker the optimal creature in the game for taming nearly anything. Its ability to climb and grapple things means that tranquilizing hostile animals is no longer an issue, as you can simply climb or hang from a string from safety while shooting. It can even grapple onto flying creatures, allowing the player to shoot at them as they fly away. Additionally, its ability to walk on the surface of water means that it can even be used to tame certain water tames such as Megalodons. While riding the Bloodstalker, the player is also able to grap corpses of animals they have killed. This is done through holding G, this is useful , to preserve the mutton of a Ovis, for example. However, if you bump into a rock or if you jump while carrying the corpse, it will drop.
  • Fish/Bio Toxin harvester: By skimming above the water and grappling fish like a Coelacanth, one can gather large amounts of Raw Fish Meat very quickly. Cnidaria can also be reeled in and dragged to shore, killing it instantly and allowing for easy and safe Bio Toxin gathering.
  • All-Terrain scout: Once the rider is used to the web mechanism they can travel incredibly quickly. Also, because the web mechanic is momentum-based, mastery over this mechanic may make this method of travel quicker and arguably even more useful than the now-nerfed Managarmr and other flyers. The Bloodstalker is also capable of climbing on any surface, even on ceilings like the Megalania, and can run swiftly and jump very high. It can even skim across the water and swim at great speed. All of these factors make the Bloodstalker perhaps the best creature ever for getting around.
  • Cave Mount: Due to the Bloodstalker's small size, maneuverability, decent power, and amazing webbing ability, it can be used to traverse through most caves with relative ease and safety. Its decent swimming speed and ability to walk on the surface of water means it can even be used for underwater cave exploration and avoid hazards such as Electrophorus and Cnidaria.
  • Egg Thief: The Bloodstalkers unmatched maneuverability and ability to climb makes them ideal for quick and easy theft of eggs from the nests of the Wyvern, Rock Drake, Deinonychus and Magmasaur if the survivor has a good mastery of controlling the Bloodstalker.
  • Pack Animal: While lacking the weight reduction of other popular pack animals, the Bloodstalker's respectable Weight, combined with it's extreme mobility even while near-encumbered, make it a reliable pack animal for getting resources to and from a location quickly.

Criaturas a las que puede agarrar

The Bloodstalker can grab and reel in the following creatures with its webbing (includes all but alpha/brute variant of the following creature):

Recurso Eficiencia
Raw Meat.png Raw Meat N/A

Left Mousebutton, RT, PS4: R2 - Shoot one web. If aiming at a small creature, the creature will be reeled in
Right Mousebutton, LT, PS4: L2 - Shoot two webs, hold down to be reeled in
X, Right Stick, PS4: Right Stick - Toggles water walking, will also remove any existing webs
C, Right Stick, PS4: Right Stick - Triggers the Bloodstalker's melee attack
Shift, Left Stick, PS4: Left Stick - Sprint and climb walls
Space, A, PS4: Cross - Makes the Bloodstalker jump. If held while being reeled in, the Bloodstalker will climb on the selected surface. If pressed while swinging, the Bloodstalker will destroy its current web and vault forward
LEFT CTRL, LB & RB, PS4: L1 & PS4: R1 - Toggles parachute when falling
G - Grabs the nearest corpse within range

  • When you successfully escape a wild Bloodstalker's grasp, the text "ESCAPE GET!" appears on the green progress bar. This is a reference to an infamous poorly-translated line from the Nintendo Gamecube game Super Mario Sunshine, the Japanese version of which displays the English text reading "SHINE GET!" whenever the player collects the games collectables called "Shine Sprites". This line has been parodied and referenced in several other games as well.
  • Always keep note of the Bloodstalker's Health when fighting or levelling as you are riding, as when it goes down to 40% or lower, the Bloodstalker will start to feast upon the survivor's blood(To avoid this keep Blood Packs in your inventory).
    • If it drinks all of your blood it will take every item in your inventory and add it to its own. (Needs Verifying)(it can take your items)
  • The Bloodstalker Egg can not be picked up. The egg will be planted on the ground directly under the female. Be sure to always breed Bloodstalkers in a climate-controlled room to prevent the eggs from being laid and stuck somewhere where they cannot be cared for properly
  • The Bloodstalker is a creature with a very high skill ceiling and mastering it takes a ton of practice and knowledge of each attack and key, and what each does. Plantilla:LMB will shoot one web string, while Plantilla:RMB will shoot 2 web strings. To grapple yourself, hold Plantilla:LMB or Plantilla:RMB. Pressing Plantilla:LMB or Plantilla:RMB while swinging will either detach it, shoot the webbing in a different location, or continue to pull you closer to the attached position of the webbing; these different factors are greatly dependent on how fast your are going, if you have a line of sight on a surface, your position when grappling, or if other keys are pressed. Switching webbing and letting go of webbing will often make the Bloodstalker twirl in the air. Pressing C will perform a melee attack or let your line of webbing down if you are dangling. Pressing Shift causes it the sprint just like most other creatures, but it also enables the Bloodstalker to climb onto surfaces, similarly to a Megalania, as well as perform an air dive, letting you plummet quickly towards the ground. Pressing X will do several things, including toggling off and on water walking and allow you to submerge in water, cancel a webbing, and cancel a blood-sucking feast. Left Ctrl will also cancel a webbing as well as enable the Bloodstalker to parachute, slowing a fall. Pressing Space bar will make the Bloodstalker jump, and this can be done on the water, ground, or midair. Pressing and holding Space bar to charge a power jump that will launch you further into the air. This move goes higher the longer you hold it and can be charged while you are moving. The Bloodstalker has the ability to double-jump. Using the jump while swinging with webbing will cancel said webbing and can either fling the Bloodstalker upwards or cause it to do a short barrel roll forward. Using Left Ctrl at the same time as jumping allows you to double jump and fall and double jump indefinitely, keeping your position above the ground.
  • Like all Genesis: Part 1 exclusive creatures, the Bloodstalker does not have a proper Dossier made by Helena, as Helena was not present as a normal survivor in the simulation.
  • Previously, wild Bloodstalkers could be knocked out for knockout tames. This was fixed at v306.63.
  • The Bloodstalker bears some resemblance to the Aerial Symbiote which is a living creature from Ark Mobile that attaches itself to the player similarly to the Bloodstalker and helps the player.
  • Rather humorously, If a survivor has ingested beer ( Beer Jar), a tamed Bloodstalker's name will temporarily change while under the effects of said alcohol. The possible names are as follows:
    • Count Dragular
    • Blerdsterker
    • Mr. Wiggles
    • Danger Noodle
    • Notorious B.O.G.
    • Bloodletty Spaghetti
    • Flying Spaghetti Monster
    • Spoopy Swoopy
    • Murder Spagerter
    • Daddy Boglegs
    • Arachnoodle
    • Dr. Stabby
    • Grabby McSlurpy
    • Creepy Pasta
    • Free Hugz
    • Captain Sucky
    • Man-Spider
    • Demonic Twine
  • If you use an emote while riding a Bloodstalker, it raises a limb for a second as if it to try and mimic you, then shakes its head, refusing to try. There are exceptions however:
    • Using "Thanks" Emote will make it bow gracefully.
    • Using "Yes" Emote will make it nod instead of shaking its head.
    • Using "Taunt", "Archer Flex"/"Bicep Smooch" (Both does the same) or "Dance" (Currently "Panic") Emote will actually make it mimic your emote.
  • Humorously, the Bloodstalker used to be able to latch onto and pull the Forest Titan and the Desert Titan with its webbing.
  • Both Bloodstalker and Troodon utilizes sacrifices of tamed dinosaurs as part of the taming process.
    • Unlike Troodon, Bloodstalker still requires to be constantly fed with Blood Packs as sacrificed dinos only permanently increase its taming effectiveness.

Bugs and Glitches

  • Wild Bloodstalkers that are latched onto a specific point of the map may get anti-mesh destroyed when they are tamed by the survivor.
  • While walking across a group of rocks and stones, the Bloodstalker may get stuck or trapped.
  • The Bloodstalker is very fast while swinging and there is a chance that if you land after a long swing the Area might not be loaded fully thus a rock or tree might load on top of you making you stuck.
  • When in creative, if the Admin Blink Rifle's teleport is used in combination with the Bloodstalker, the player appears very offset, and the Bloodstalker gains the ability to fly with infinite stamina. This can be undone by landing in water.
  • Because it will try to mimic your Emote, you cannot turn the light on while your lantern pet is on your shoulder, you have to dismount in order to do so.
  • High level Bloodstalkers will often let go of you when attempting to tame, Does not occur on levels 20-80.
