Sättel werden verwendet, um Dinos und andere Kreaturen zu Reiten. Dies funktioniert nur, wenn das Tier gezähmt ist.

Sattelwerte

Die meisten Sättel haben standartmäßig 25 Rüstung. Die Sättel von  Carbonemys,  Trikes,  Pachys,  Diplodocus,  Paracers und  Brontos (nicht der  Plattformsattel) haben allerdings nur 20 Rüstung. Der  Titanosaur-Plattformsattel hat 1 Rüstung (=0). Alle Tek-Sättel haben standartmäßig 45 Rüstung; es ist nur durch Konsolenbefehle möglich, bessere zu bekommen. Sättel, die mit gefundenen Bauplänen gemacht wurden, können, ausgenommen dem  Tropeognathus Sattel mehr Rüstung haben. Mit Ausnahme des  Roll Rat Sattels verliert kein Sattel Haltbarkeit.

Sattelrüstung

Die folgenden Formeln wurden aus den Spieldateien kopiert: Die generelle Formel lautet wie folgt:

Schadensmultiplikator = 100 / (100 + Rüstungskoeffizienz * Rüstungswert)

Eingehender Schaden = Schaden * Schadensmultiplikator

Schadensreduktion = 1 - Schadensmultiplikator

Explosives

For explosive damage against saddles, the Armor Coefficient has a value of 1.

DamageMultiplier = 100 / (100 + 1 * Armor)

Example using 750 explosive damage (Grenades and rockets from a primitive Rocket Launcher) against a creature:

Firearms and Melee Weapons

For bullet damage and player melee weapon against saddles, the Armor Coefficient has a value of 4.

DamageMultiplier = 100 / (100 + 4 * Armor)

Example using 60 bullet damage (bullet from a Simple Pistol) against a creature:

Dino Attacks

For dino damage, the Armor Coefficient varies on the attacker. It can vary widely with some examples are shown below:

• Attacks from Rexes and Brontos: 4 (50% damage reduction from a 25 armor saddle)
• Attacks from Alpha Raptors: 1 (20% damage reduction from a 25 armor saddle)
• Attacks from Mantas: 0.4 (9.09% damage reduction from a 25 armor saddle)

Element Cannon

Tek Saddles have the ability to shoot bullets with Element when activated with Ctrl and pressed with right click. However, to utilize such ability, the saddle has to be learnt from beating  Bosse containing such tekgram. Riding on creatures with Tek Saddle does not require the Tekgram, however.
